In the ‘30’s women had gone from a flapper look of the twenties to a more feminine style.
- Hemlines dropped to ankle
- Necklines were lowered and received dramatic attention. Often with wide edges or ruffled collars
- Torsos were molded beneath square shoulders
- Darts were replaced by soft gathers
- Waists were turned to a natural waistline
- Full skirts exentuated a small waist and minimized the hips
- Dress bodices were designed with inset pieces and yokes
